Requirements to Referee

All must be completed before the season starts.

1. Finger Printing – All Section 3 sports officials are required to be fingerprinted.  Assignors may only assign officials who have been fingerprinted and cleared per New York State Education Department (NYSED) guidelines, have submitted an OSPRA 102 form to the Section 3 office, and are listed on this website as a cleared official.  Link Section III finger printing requirements.
2. Physical Fitness Test – All CNYSOA referees must complete a PT that include a 12-minute run, short sprint, and shuttle run.
3. Complete training seminar and pass the NHFS rules exam.
4. Knowledge of the game of soccer.
